The ‘Know ESG’ Game Show was created by the CFA Institute, with the objective to provide investment professionals with common key terminology, methodology, and principles of ESG, in a fun and engaging way. Please join us for this interactive team quiz! Through this innovative format, we hope to promote a greater understanding – and adoption – of ESG investment approaches by investors across the globe.

Description
The ESG Game Show is a 60 to 90-minute professional development workshop in ESG offered to banks, investment management businesses, asset owners and universities. The workshop takes the form of active participation, a group quiz with specific scoring rules and a winner’s prize, in order to deliver specific learning objectives.

The ESG Game Show will:
Deliver a multi-level (i.e. appropriate for people who are either new to or experienced in the subject matter), engaging learning and sharing experience.
• Introduce and conceptually embed ESG terminology, methodology, and key principles.
• Link ESG to everyday life.
• Link ESG to well-understood and accepted investment principles.
• Support peer-to-peer knowledge sharing and enhanced understanding.
• Raise awareness about the importance of sustainability and professionals with insights into the likely impact of sustainability on finance.

The ESG Game Show has been used globally since its launch in 2018. It has been run successfully for a wide range of institutions, including banks, asset managers, asset owners, sovereign wealth funds, and universities. The ESG Gameshow won the UK Investment Week 2020 prize for innovation in ESG Education.

Meet our speaker:

Klaus Paesler, CFA, Senior Director, Institutional Relations, EMEA, CFA Institute
Based in London, Klaus heads the team managing CFA Institute’s relationships with financial services firms such as asset managers, asset owners, banks and professional services firms across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Klaus joined the CFA Institute from Millennium Global Group, where most recently he was head of Business Development and Marketing, responsible for leading growth strategies across EMEA, LATAM and North America. Prior to that, he worked at Russell Investments and Mellon Capital Management in both the US and the UK, latterly as Director of Investment Solutions for Northern Europe. He has extensive experience working in portfolio management for equity and derivative strategies, client-facing roles both as a product specialist and in executing business growth strategies and product development covering multiple asset classes. Klaus is a CFA Charterholder and holds a BS degree in Business Management and Finance from Portland State University and an MS in Finance from Golden Gate University in San Francisco. He has also recently earned the Certificate in ESG Investing.
