Earlier this year, CFA Institute conducted a survey of its global membership to analyze the effects of the current economic crisis caused by the coronavirus epidemic on financial markets and the investment management industry. Find out more »

Beata Harasim, CFA, Director, Senior Investment Strategist, BlackRock, Member of the BlackRock Investment Institute (BII)
She is responsible for developing tactical asset allocation frameworks and contributing to related thought leadership. Ms. Harasim represents BlackRock's multi-asset views based on the insights of our investment community. Prior to her current role, Ms. Harasim worked at BlackRock for nine years, most recently as a global macro portfolio manager with the Diversified Strategies team. She ran a discretionary fundamental investment process, with a primary focus on currencies and fixed income. Prior to that, she worked as a portfolio manager with BlackRock's Global and European Fixed Income teams. Ms. Harasim is a CFA and CAIA charter holder . She earned a MA degree in Finance and Banking from the Warsaw School of Economics in 2008 and completed post graduate course in Big Data: Advanced Analytics in 2016.
Gary Baker, CFA, Managing Director of Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA), CFA Institute
He is responsible for the strategic direction of the organization in the EMEA region and for strengthening relationships with its 40 member societies, as well as with institutions, universities, regulators, and institutional partners. Mr. Baker is responsible for supporting CFA Institute policy development in EMEA, advancing the impact of advocacy efforts, and supporting EMEA member societies in delivering value to members and candidates. He has a focus on increasing charterholder commitment to continuing education and has management responsibility for research functions across CFA Institute, including the Financial Analysts Journal, the Future of Finance initiative, and CFA Institute Research Foundation. Mr. Baker has been engaged in financial market investment research for the past 30 years in a wide range of sell-side strategic, analytic, and management roles. Previously, he was deputy head of research at Jefferies, and he also worked at Merrill Lynch in a number of global roles, including managing director and chief European equity strategist. Mr. Baker earned a master’s degree in geography from Cambridge University.
Bartosz Pawłowski, CFA, CIO mBank Private Banking
Bartosz Pawłowski, CFA is the Chief Investment Officer of mBank Private Banking where he focuses on asset allocation for both discretionary asset management and investment advisory with particular emphasis on thematic investing and ESG. Previously he spent almost 10 years in London, initially as Global Head of Emerging Markets Strategy at BNP Paribas and then as a Portfolio Manager at Finisterre Capital, an EM-oriented macro hedge fund. Bartosz holds M.A. in Economics from Warsaw School of Economics and is a CFA Charterholder. Since 2020 he is Vice-President of CFA Society Poland. In co-operation with CFA Society Poland, Bartosz introduced CFA Institute Statement of Investor Rights to mBank Private Banking. mBank was the first institution in Poland to adopt and use it when dealing with clients. Bartosz was also a judge during the last two editions of CFA Research Challenge.

President of CFA Society Poland, Professor of Economic Sciences at Wroclaw University of Economics (title given by the President of Poland in 1992), Head of Finance Management Institute. He is member in scientific and professional organizations: Member of Executive Board of Committee of Statistics and Econometrics of Polish Academy of Sciences, Member of Executive Board of Committee of Financial Sciences of Polish Academy of Sciences , Member of Executive Board of Committee of Economic Sciences of Polish Academy of Sciences. His research interests are: financial markets and instruments, risk management, corporate finance, real estate, insurance and quantitative methods (econometrics, statistics).He was a member of the Scientific Council of the National Bank of Poland and a member of the Supervisory Board of Warsaw Stock Exchange.
