CFA Society Poland was established in 2004 and is one of 157 member societies of CFA Institute. The organisation is present in 70 countries or territories and gathers over 185,000 finance professionals in 164 countries.
The Society promotes the highest ethical standards in Polish investment community.
CFA Society Poland gathers professionals involved in broadly defined investment and financial management. This group includes portfolio managers, financial analysts, investment advisors, risk managers and many other finance professionals. CFA Society Poland has successfully supported CFA charterholders and candidates for almost 10 years.
At the moment there are 600 members in CFA Society Poland and over 2,000 candidates involved in the ongoing CFA® Program.

President of the Management Board
Bartosz Pałowski, President of the Management Board of mTFI
He has been involved in the financial markets for 20 years. He began his career at ING Bank Śląski as an economist. In 2007, he moved to London, where he held the positions of Chief Emerging Markets Strategist at BNP Paribas and Portfolio Manager at the global macro hedge fund Finisterre Capital. After returning to Poland, from 2016−2022, he served as Chief Investment Officer in mBank's private banking, where in addition to asset management, he was also responsible for investment advisory. He has been with mTFI since 2021, initially as Vice President of the Management Board responsible for investments and operations, and subsequently, since January 2025, as President of the company. mTFI, which he leads, is a member of the Chamber of Fund and Asset Managers (IZFiA). Additionally, since 2020, he has been the Vice President of CFA Society Poland, one of the leading organizations representing capital market professionals. Bartosz is a graduate of the SGH Warsaw School of Economics and holds the CFA designation as well as the Certificate in Sustainable Investing, awarded by the international CFA Institute. He also completed the High Performance Leadership program organized by IMD in Lausanne.

Przemysław Barankiewicz, CFA, Branch Director, Finax
Member of the Management Board of CFA Society Poland since 2013, where he is responsible for investment communication, PR, and event organization. Financial blogger and economic commentator, promoting ESG investing, ethics, and financial education. In the past, his roles included Editor-in-Chief of the two most important business titles online: Bankier.pl and pb.pl. Currently, Director of the Polish branch of the robo-advisor Finax. Chartered Financial Analyst since 2005, graduate of the Cracow University of Economics, University of Bedfordshire, SGH Warsaw School of Economics, and Warsaw University of Technology.
Ludmiła Falak-Cyniak, CFA, Vice President of the Management Board, Corporate and Investment Banking Area, PKO Bank Polski
A leader with over 25 years of experience in the financial industry, including 17 years in executive roles. Specialist in finance, investments, organizational management, and team leadership. She built her professional experience in Polish organizations and international financial institutions, participating in both building startup organizations as well as in restructurings and mergers. She held senior managerial and executive roles in organizations such as AEGON, AMUNDI, SKARBIEC, KBC, and WARTA. She consciously builds highly engaged teams and an organizational culture that supports business processes with a strong focus on achieving results. She graduated from the University of Łódź with a degree in Finance and Banking, and also completed Postgraduate Studies in Investments and doctoral studies at the SGH Warsaw School of Economics. She is a graduate of the INSEAD Global Management Program. She holds an investment advisor license, a securities broker license, and the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Professional Risk Manager (PRM) designations. In recent years, she has intensively expanded her knowledge in IT resource management, modern project management methodologies (AGILE, SCRUM, DevOps), and latest technologies, including cloud computing (AWS, Google Cloud) and artificial intelligence. This investment in personal development highlights her commitment to continuous improvement as well as anticipating and implementing solutions that set new directions for growth in the financial industry. Actively participating in the life of expert associations and non-profit organizations, such as the Chamber of Pension Funds (IGTE), the Board of CFA, and the Finance Committee of the Auschwitz-Birkenau Foundation, she constantly strives to deepen her skills and share her acquired knowledge. Her approach to management is characterized by strategic thinking, effective leadership of people, and adaptation to change, which, combined with an openness to innovation and international cooperation, makes her a leader perfectly prepared to effectively guide organizations through the complex financial and operational challenges of today's world.
Prof. Krzysztof Jajuga, Head of the Department of Financial Investments and Risk Management, Wroclaw University of Economics and Business
President of CFA Society Poland. Professor of economic sciences, he also received the title of doctor honoris causa from the Cracow University of Economics and the WSB University in Dąbrowa Górnicza, and is an honorary professor at the Warsaw University of Technology. Head of the Department of Financial Investments and Risk Management at the Wroclaw University of Economics and Business, Chairman of the Committee on Statistics and Econometrics of the Polish Academy of Sciences (PAN), President-Elect of the International Federation of Classification Societies, Member of the Presidium of the Council of Scientific Excellence, and Member of the Advisory Board of the Association of Business Service Leaders. Editor-in-Chief of the journal "Argumenta Oeconomica" (a journal listed on the JCR list), Member of the Editorial Committee of the journal "Risk Management in Financial Institutions". He cooperates with many financial institutions and enterprises. In the past and currently, a member of numerous supervisory boards. Former member of the Scientific Council of the National Bank of Poland. Currently a member of the Warsaw Stock Exchange Supervisory Board. He has lectured in China, the United States, France, the Netherlands, Ireland, Germany, the United Kingdom, and Sweden. Author of over 480 publications in Polish and English, including more than a dozen monographs and textbooks. He has delivered over 360 papers at national and international conferences. One of the founders of the Polish Association of Investment Professionals (currently: CFA Society Poland) in 2004, where he is primarily responsible for activities in ethics, education (including the Investment Academy), and university outreach.
Maciej Kowalczyk, CFA, Owner, Risk & Portfolio Solutions
A dynamic leader with 16 years of experience across the investment fund, banking, and fintech industries. Expert in quantitative finance, asset management, investment risk management, IT systems development, team leadership, and process automation and optimization, with a proven track record of implementing IT systems and innovative tech solutions that significantly enhance operational efficiency. He gained professional experience at the Royal Bank of Scotland (derivatives position controlling), Accenture (Financial Risk Management team), and the fintech Turbine Analytics S.A., where, as a COO he was responsible for the functional design and development of the Turbine Asset Manager and Turbine Risk Analytics systems and products—portfolio and risk management solutions deployed in over 25 institutions and across more than 450 funds. Currently, through his advisory practice, he collaborates with PwC, primarily delivering projects for international investment banks in the areas of quantitative finance, process automation, and risk and control assessment updates. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA charterholder, ID 163073) and a Financial Risk Manager (FRM, certified by the Global Association of Risk Professionals, ID 181492). Graduate of the Warsaw School of Economics (Finance and Accounting, Economics). He conducts training in quantitative finance, risk management, data management, and related regulatory implementations, and serves as a postgraduate lecturer at Kozminski University (derivatives).
Beata Sax, CFA, Vice President of the Management Board, Investors TFI
Graduate of the SGH Warsaw School of Economics (Faculty of Finance and Banking) and University College Dublin, Ireland (degree: Master in Economic Science in European Economics and Public Affairs). In 2002–2003, she was a scholarship recipient and participant in the executive program of the Robert Bosch Foundation in Germany. She holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. Involved with the financial market since 2000. She gained experience, among others, at the Securities and Exchange Commission (now KNF) and the Ministry of Finance, where from 2003–2007 she held positions ranging from Senior Specialist to Deputy Director of the Capital Market Development Department (Capital Market Division). Associated with the Investors group since 2007. Since 2009, she has served as Vice President of the Management Board of Investors TFI.
Damian Tracz, CFA, Finance Transformation VP, HSBC
Senior finance and transformation leader with over 16 years of experience in financial and quantitative analysis, planning and forecasting (FP&A), project ROI tracking, process automation, as well as investment portfolio management and asset valuation. CFA charterholder, licensed Investment Advisor and Stockbroker. Experienced people manager and trusted business partner with a proven track record of delivering complex projects and strategic initiatives, including organizational transformations, finance process improvements, and stress testing programs. Graduated from the Cracow University of Economics with a degree in Informatics and Econometrics, and built professional experience across both Polish and international organizations, including Alior Bank, UBS, and HSBC. Focused on driving business value through data-driven insights and practical financial solutions that support business objectives.
Auditing Committee
The Auditing Committee was established to exercise control over the activities of CFA Society Poland. Currently, the committee consists of three members. Meetings of the Auditing Committee are held as needed, but at least once a year. Composition of the Supervisory Committee:
Piotr Polanowski, CFA, Managing Partner, Synerga+
An experienced financial professional who worked for 24 years in London, Tallinn, and Warsaw in strategic advisory, M&A, and corporate finance, including at Deloitte & Touche CE — tax and legal audit, Trigon Capital AS, FinCo Group, DELTA Capital Group, and Managing Partner at Synerga+. Experience includes preparing and implementing strategies for large companies, expertise in financial analysis and valuation in international arbitration and court proceedings, public court expert in Poland, member of supervisory boards, including those regulated by the KNF (e.g., the fintech mPay), guest lecturer at renowned Polish universities and MBA schools, such as Kozminski University and the Warsaw University of Technology Business School. Education gained at the American School of Warsaw (International Baccalaureate '97), King's College London (B.Sc. Business Management '00), and the SGH Warsaw School of Economics (M.Sc. Finance and Banking '04). He is fluent in English and French.
Łukasz Rzeszowski, CFA, Managing Partner, NEGA-Energy, Founder, Grinfino Capital
Łukasz has over 15 years of experience in finance, fund accounting and valuation, financial process oversight, investment analysis, and strategic financial advisory. From 2008 to 2021, he worked at BlackRock in the United Kingdom, where, as a director, he was responsible for the oversight of accounting, administration, and valuation processes for UK investment funds. He worked with fund boards, audit and risk committees, auditors, fund administrators, and international operational teams. He was also a member of a fund valuation committee. Earlier in his career, he worked at Citi in the United Kingdom, focusing on fund accounting and valuation as well as financial data analysis. Since 2022, he has run an advisory practice through NEGA-Energy and Grinfino Capital, focusing on investment analysis, green finance, energy efficiency, and corporate energy transition. Łukasz holds the CFA designation, completed an Executive DBA at the Institute of Economics of the Polish Academy of Sciences, and has been a member of CFA Society Poland since 2022. He was previously involved with the Scottish committee of CFA UK. He also has academic experience. He taught management and finance at the University of Lower Silesia DSW and is associated with the University of Edinburgh Business School as a Business Associate.
Dr. Andrzej Sołdek, CFA, President of the Management Board of PTE PZU
Graduate of the SGH Warsaw School of Economics, where he obtained a master's degree in foreign trade in 1996. In 2023, he obtained a PhD in social sciences in the discipline of economics and finance. He holds the following licenses: broker (1992), investment advisor (1994), and CFA (2004). Alumnus of part-time undergraduate studies in financial and actuarial mathematics at the Warsaw University of Technology. In 2000, he participated in the Strategic Management Program at the International Institute for Management Development in Switzerland. From the beginning of his career, he has been associated with entities from the financial sector. He gained professional experience in the ING Group, where from 1992–1995 he was employed as a broker at DM Banku Śląskiego, and from 1996 to 1998 served as a Member of the Management Board and CIO at ING BSK AM. Since 1998, he has been associated with Zurich PTE, where he held senior executive positions (CEO, CFO, CIO) and was responsible, among others, for finance, accounting, controlling, the investment department, and actively seeking opportunities to increase market share. Since 2003, he has been with PTE PZU, where he held the position of Deputy CEO and CIO (2003–2008), then from 2008 to 2016 was employed as CEO, while concurrently serving as CIO (2014–2016). He was responsible, among others, for the strategic management of the company, investment activities, and fund accounting (OFE PZU, DFE PZU) as well as PTE PZU, legal services, compliance, internal audit, and risk management. From July 1, 2018, to December 19, 2018, Vice President of the Management Board of Skarbiec Holding, and then until November 30, 2020, as Chief Financial Officer. Concurrently, from July 1, 2018, to November 30, 2020, Member of the Management Board of Skarbiec TFI, responsible for finance, risk, and operations. In 2003–2005, he sat on the Supervisory Boards of companies listed on the regulated market of the Warsaw Stock Exchange: W. Kruk, Polfa Kutno, and Elektrobudowa (2003–2004); then in 2017–2018 he was a member of the supervisory boards of Elektrobudowa, Ferro, Skarbiec Holding, and Tarczyński. In 2020–2024, Member of the Supervisory Board and Chairman of the Audit Committee of Esaliens TFI; in 2022–2024, he served as a Member of the Supervisory Board and Audit Committee of COMPREMUM, and in 2024, he was a member of the Supervisory Board and Audit Committee at PKO BP Bankowy PTE. Currently an assistant professor at the SGH Warsaw School of Economics.

OUR INITIATIVES
Get to know the initiatives led by CFA Society Poland, which represents CFA Institute in Poland and Baltic states.
Advocacy
Currently one of the most important areas of CFA Society Poland’s activity represented by the Advocacy Committee, which provides judgment on important legal matters and cooperates with regulators. The committee’s key opinions were issued on PPK (Employee Capital Plans), listed companies’ good practices and corporate governance for capital market participants.

Cooperation with universities/education
CFA Society Poland is active in the academic community. We cooperate with numerous universities in Poland and Baltic states. Our primary goal is promoting the CFA® designation among academics and students. Our main projects include students competitions: CFA Institute Research Challenge and CFA Society Poland Ethics Challenge.
