At the end of December, we received notification that the second-cycle (master’s) program at the Faculty of Economics and Sociology of the University of Łódź—Financial Market: Investment Advisory—has been accredited by the CFA Institute, thereby joining the University Affiliation Program (UAP). The agreement with the CFA Institute was signed by the Dean of the Faculty, Professor Mariusz Sokołowicz. This is the second accreditation awarded to the Financial Market: Investment Advisory program, as it also received the KNF accreditation—making it the only program in Poland to achieve this distinction.
CFA Institute accreditation under the University Affiliation Program (UAP) is a recognition awarded to academic institutions integrating Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Program content into their curriculum. This program highlights universities that equip students with the core skills and knowledge required in the investment industry while upholding the highest ethical standards.
Aligning degree programs with CFA content
Participating universities must demonstrate that their programs cover at least 70% of the CFA Level I Exam material, including investment analysis, portfolio management, corporate finance, ethics, and professionalism.
Ethics-based education
The program underscores the importance of ethical principles in the work of investment professionals, which is a critical element of the CFA Institute’s mission.
Support for students
Students enrolled in accredited programs can apply for scholarships for the CFA exams, thereby reducing certification costs. They also gain access to CFA Institute resources, such as educational materials and training opportunities.
Visibility and prestige
Universities with CFA Institute affiliation gain increased recognition in the financial industry, which can attract students interested in investment careers. For students, this affiliation ensures that their education meets international standards.
Preparation for CFA exams
Programs aligned with CFA requirements help students better prepare for the exams, considered among the most prestigious credentials in the financial world.
A university with this affiliation can offer a program closely aligned with the CFA curriculum. Students benefit from access to CFA resources and are better equipped to tackle market challenges, taking into account both theoretical and practical perspectives.
